Gerrit Cole Continued To Be a Fucking Monster As He Completely Dominated The Rays
Yankees 1 Rays 0
I think Gerrit Cole joining the Yankees is the best thing that's ever happened to me. It is so much fucking fun having a true ace on your baseball team. It's a whole different level when you have Gerrit Cole. A guy you can hand the ball to and have zero worry with what is about to happen. A guy who can feel the importance of a game and use all of that energy, convert it to anger, and then overmatch every hitter that stands in his way. He is everything you could ever want from your ace.
Tonight the Yankees only managed to score one run, and it took them a while to do so. In the meantime Cole refused to give in. He punished the Rays on Wednesday night and it was beautiful.

With the 8th inning being his last due to pitch count, he decided to murder the Rays three hitters. They had zero chance in that inning and it was glorious.
Completely emptying the tank there with 99 mph and the stare down to end it. Worth every fucking penny.
The Yankees only run came on an Aaron Hicks sac fly in the 7th. Thanks to Cole and Aroldis in the 9th that was all they needed. I was a little worried about Chapman entering the inning considering what happened yesterday on the mound as he tried to close the game out. Those worries were quickly erased with a nice 1-2-3 inning. The ERA is still at 0.00 through 15 innings. Aroldis has been other worldly in 2021.
First Yankees series win at the Trop in two years. Man that feels good. 20-16 on the season and on a roll. The boys are back, let's get that sweep tomorrow.
