MLB Has Told The A's/City of Oakland To Hurry Up And Build A New Stadium Or Get Their Asses Out Of Oakland (VEGASSSSSSS?????)
We've seen all the renderings of the new stadium for YEARS and besides really awesome drawings, no other progress has been made in getting the A's a new home. So today MLB told the A's/City of Oakland to either get their shit together and get a new stadium, or move the team to a new city that will build them a new park. Simple as that.
The Oakland Coliseum has been around since the days of gladiators fighting tigers, so it is time they demolish that old puppy and give the A's, and the city of Oakland, a new stadium. Every other city not called Tampa Bay has figured it out, but for some reason every time Oakland tries to do it, it falls through.
And now, the clock is ticking and Las Vegas must have the biggest boner ever. Oakland has an ultimatum and if they break up with the A's, a lovely town not too far away would be the obvious front-runner to hop into bed with them. Vegas is the hottest sports town in the country (no pun intended) and have been rumored to be planning a baseball stadium on the current sit of the Rio, which would be a fantastic location for it. Obviously they'd build a roof on it ya psychos, nobody is going to play in 140 degree heat, but best believe Vegas would be an awesome baseball town. Catch a buzz at the park before hitting the casinos at night? Nothing better.
So while I have no disrespect for my Oakland homies, I am rooting for them to move to Vegas. Plus, they could call them the Vegas Aces and keep the name A's. Win-win.
