Ohio State Starting Wide Receiver Jameson Williams Was Demoted And Is Now Transferring To......Alabama

Let's start off by setting the story straight: Ohio State will be just fine. Yeah this guy has played in every single game in each of the last two seasons, but the only reason he's looking for a new home is because he got demoted on the depth chart this Spring. A depth chart which includes Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Julian Fleming, Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka. Folks, that's not just the best receiving room in the country, that is hands down far and away the best position group in the entire sport.

Well said, Pete.

So yeah, do I like to see Jameson Williams transfer out? Literally doesn't bother me one bit. But what does bother me is that he's going to Alabama. Seems kinda like a "if you can't beat em, join em" situation after last year's championship game.

Again, I can't be too pissed at the guy since we demoted him, but I find it hard to believe that he could stomach going to the school that just took the National Championship away from him three months ago. Not just took it from us, wiped the floor with us. Am I wrong here? Shouldn't that have a sour taste in his mouth if he was a true Buckeye? And I get that he wants to compete at a high level and prepare for the NFL, but there's plenty of other places that would've checked the boxes than to go to the other biggest contender in the country. Many of which he apparently considered….

Williams chose Alabama among a list of seven finalists that also reportedly included Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Florida, Michigan State, USC and Michigan.

Did I read the right? MICHIGAN? A former Ohio State starting WR lost his job and considered MICHIGAN? Nah, my man is jealous. No rhyme or reason to go be a wide receiver at Michigan unless there's bad blood. I seriously wish I could take the high road here and tell Jameson that I wish him luck in wherever his path leads him, but to consider Michigan and end up at Alabama means that being a Buckeye was never really special to him. I won't hear otherwise. If Dave offered me triple the money to become the Michigan blogger, I would tell him thanks but no thanks. Some things are more important, like pride, integrity, and The Ohio State Buckeyes.

See you in January, Jameson.
