After Listening To Julius Randle Talk About MSG And This Team There's Just One Thing To Do - Make Him A Knick For Life

Listen, I didn't think I could love Julius Randle more. A Kentucky guy, a lefty, signed with the Knicks and has made them more than relevant. But then I hear him talk about how he wants to build more and keep growing and turn this team into something. Well, my hands are tied. I love Julius Randle more. He's going to go down as one of the most important Knicks of my lifetime. That's what happens when really I just had the 90s, a little bit of Allan Houston and Sprewell and then 2012. That was fun. Great times down memory lane.

But look at those quotes from Randle. That's the type of guy we've been craving as Knicks fans. He's a bully. He's someone you can build around. Remember, HE'S STILL JUST 26 YEARS OLD. I can't stress that enough. He's still young as shit and has plenty of prime years left. If this is the Julius Randle we're getting? You can clearly win with him. It's about building the team around him and potentially landing another star with him. That's right, star. That's what Julius Randle is. The dude is top-20 in the NBA in points, rebounds and assists.

I think what I love the most though is that this team wants to stay together. Fuck. Yes. I've talked about it before but they have that young core of Randle, RJ, Quickley and Toppin. Those are the 4 guys you start with, work with draft picks and mix in the vets. Right now it's perfect. But it's about keeping the core together and continuing to build. But it starts with making Randle a Knick for life. Remember, the max offer the Knicks can give him is still a fucking steal. (NY Post)

As much money as Randle’s three-year, $60 million contract seemed when he signed it, it’s not that overwhelming now. Under Randle’s third-year figure of $20 million, the Knicks could only offer him a top deal of four years, $106 million that would extend starting in 2022-23 at $24 million, according to ESPN’s cap guru Bobby Marks. If Randle’s final year were technically a team option, they could have offered him a max extension. However, it’s technically a partially guaranteed final year.

If nothing happens, Randle stands to be a restricted free agent in 2022.

Offer him as much as you can and let's lock this shit up. It's playoff time. Oh speaking of playoff time, we got new shirts for you.
