Not Only Is Shohei Ohtani Still Hitting Tape Measure Homers, He's Now Beating Out Routine Ground Balls To The Shortstop

Every night Shohei Ohtani is doing stuff that makes your jaw drop, we saw and heard the 115 MPH homer that sounded like a jet, we saw the 119 MPH double the other night, we've seen the 101 MPH pitches, he can literally do it all. What people forget is he's fast as hell too, because not only did he hit the mammoth home run above. Put a charge into that one and hits it into a place not that many people go to out in Kansas City. The home run was very impressive in itself, but now he's hitting routine ground balls to the shortstop and beating the throw to first.

He's a gazelle. Routine ball to the shortstop who takes a few steps to his left to field it, comes up and makes a strong throw and Ohtani beats it. So not only can you sneak a fastball by him, but if you get him to hit it to the left side and there is just the slightest hint of a hesitation he's going to be safe. Electric. It's a race between he and Ronald Acuña Jr. for the most electric player in baseball right now. This is a race I could get with all year. Every night you get on twitter and see that Ohtani is doing some out of this world thing and I don't hate it. Lets just hope he stays healthy this entire season because he's going to be electric in an MVP race late in the season. Can't wait to see what he ends up doing tonight that'll make my jaw end up on the floor.
