Doppelgänger Kevin James Will Play Sean Payton In An Upcoming Netflix Movie

"NBC Sports' Peter King revealed in his "Football Morning in America" column on Monday that the streaming platform is making a movie about Payton's time coaching his son's sixth-grade football team in 2012, when he was suspended from the NFL for his role in Bountygate. The movie is called "Home Team," and we also know who will be playing Payton in the movie: Kevin James."

This is interesting for 2 reasons:

1. Kevin James really doesn't look much like Sean Payton at all. And as a fellow heavy guy, thats not a heavy dig. Just facially.

2. How are they going to frame this movie? Is Payton the good guy? A misunderstood angel of a man that was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time?

Is this a comedy? A coming-of-age sort of deal? Is it going to be almost a mighty ducks-type vibe? You gotta think that the only way this doesn't get riddled with legal issues is if it is very kind to his image. Or if they really don't mention bountygate at all. Here is how I think this goes. He takes over his kids team, makes a lot of direct, wiki-style references about saints players along the lines of

"You know, son, I taught New Orleans Saint wide receiver Robert Meachem this same route! He went to Tennessee and ran a 4.6 40 yard dash! I'm Sean Payton and I was born in 1963"

James will get frustrated with the kids before figuring out how to dumb down his coaching method. He will bring his kids all the way to the championship but probably lose. Maybe it's because he doesn't want his son to play through an injury or something. SOME THINGS!

Btw fellow long islander Kevin James is a gem and I would highly recommend watching our interview with him.
