My oh my Jordan Spieth is finally back. After losing his way for several years and sinking all the way down to 94th in the world, Jordo is back in the win column.
We saw glimpses back in Scottsdale. He worked his way into contention and started to light it up on Saturday by snaking his way out of trouble repeatedly and burying some absolute BOMBS. Didn’t get the W but it was progress for sure. He put himself into contention at Pebble Beach and Bay Hill as well with some consistent play and some electric hole outs.
Now he’s back at the top of his game and headed into his favorite venue in golf. His track record at Augusta speaks for itself. You gotta be a magician with your wedges and your flatstick at that place and those are absolutely dialed in right now. Game could not be peaking at a better time.
Golf is a better game when Jordan Spieth is near the top of it. He’s the perfect foil (or hero, depending on how you look at it) for the DeChambeau’s and Rory’s of the world who chase speed and shorten golf courses. Jordan now and when he’s at his best is hardly even mediocre off the tee. He was near the bottom of the field this week and won anyway. He’s proof positive that a great approach and short game will never go out of style and that’s what Augusta is all about. Cannot wait for next week. Can. Not. Wait.
Welcome back Jordan.
