Tennis Player Benoit Paire Continues To Hilariously Tank Matches And Says His Plan Moving Forward Is To "Arrive, Take Some Money And Go to the Next Tournament"

I know it's March Madness, but I'm going to quickly introduce you to one of my favorite athletes in the world: Benoit Paire. It's not because I like him or root for him, but because of how much of a wonderful disaster he consistently is.

Benoit Paire is a professional tennis player who absolutely despises the sport of tennis. He wants to do anything but play tennis, but given his circumstances he kinda has no other choice than to stay on the tour. He doesn't want to return home because life in France isn't great with the pandemic. Instead he jumps around from tournament to tournament, gives pretty much zero effort, loses, and collects a check. The dude basically tanks his matches and it's hilarious to watch unfold. Read some of these quotes, they're unreal.

"I lost in the first round, so much the better: I will be able to get out of the bubble fairly quickly and enjoy a few days before Miami, "I'm hoping to be able to go to the beach and the pool."

"I'm not happy on the court. I don't touch my racket [in between tournaments] at all. It makes no sense to pay anyone on tour at the moment.

"Tennis is not my priority for the moment. Getting out of the bubble is the only goal I have at every tournament."

"I arrive, I take some money and I go to the next tournament: I do my job"

"I'm on my own. I have nothing - no coach, no physio… I'm not training. I'm not ready for the big matches.

Dude just doesn't give a fuck. He's incredible to watch because he'll give a half ass effort for about the first half of the match before completely imploding. These late tank jobs are something else. Dude literally spits on the court and serves to the opposite side of the court.

Look at his recent matches!

Crazy part is Paire used to be really good and ranked as high as 18th in the world. He'd hit some of the best shots you've ever seen on a tennis court and give top players a run for their money. Guy is just a lunatic now and is uncontrollable. He's playing in the Miami Open coming up and is an auto-fade bet the moment he steps onto the court. My man is thinking about the beach when he's holding a racket and nothing else.
