Hi, Dave and everyone at barstool. My name is Geno azar and I own Azars sports bar with my girlfriend Shelby. The business was started in 1979 by my father Mike Azar, was passed to me when he passed away. I take care of my mom who is old. Azar's has sponsored and put together many different community events like golf tournaments, slowpitch softball leagues and even a co-ed kickball team. We love sports and getting together with our neighbors and friends and drinking and having a great time. Like many other businesses since the Covid shutdown not only has the business and the employees suffered but the community now doesn't have a place to come unwind at. We have worked with the government and bought canopies to move the business to "outdoor only" we bought rolling carts and more tvs to be able to bring the Sports Bar atmosphere into the parking lot so the patrons can still enjoy what they love to do. But like im sure you already know we have been told that we are no longer allowed to have our business outside. I have 15 part time employees who i have been paying this entire time . I am running out of funds and have started working construction a few days out of the week in order to keep the power on at the business and at home all while continue to make sure that my employees are able to provide for their families. We are asking for help. I have tried to apply for your fund a few weeks ago and never heard anything. I am hoping that our business doesn't get overlooked because we are really hurting and would appreciate anything to help during this time. Thank You!!
