Ron Giacoppo has owned Club Car Cafe in West Concord, MA since 1990. He has been in the business starting at just 14, starting off with washing dishes, then bartending, to cooking. After years of learning about the business from front to back, he finally opened his own small restaurant 30 years ago. Ron has always been a hard worker, and since opening the restaurant he has always given it his all with 15 hour days, 7 days a week to provide for his family.
From the very start of opening Club Car Cafe, Ron has promised to be a family business that provided food at an affordable cost and has always been very involved in the Concord community. Whenever someone asks for a favor or donation he is one of the first to open his wallet. Throughout the years he has helped with donating money to minute man arc, local schools, sports teams, churches, the police department, and has even displayed local art on our walls without charge. He even donated thousands of dollars worth of food and produce when we were forced to shut down due to COVID-19 restrictions.
His customers have become family and he wants to make sure everyone feels that way when they leave his restaurant. Not only is Club Car Cafe a restaurant, but it is located in the old historic MBTA train station and provides a comfortable place for people to wait and use the facilities in harsher weather, a lot of the time without even purchasing anything from the restaurant. Ron has always been the type of person to help others without ever expecting anything in return. It has taken a lot to admit it, but the restaurant is now desperately in need of some aid. After being completely shut down from March through July and seeing a drastic loss in sales (about 75%), Ron is really struggling. He put his heart and soul into this small restaurant and would love nothing more than to be able to put another 30+ years of hard work into it. Ron has been trying his best and has continued to keep all of our staff on the payroll as he doesn’t want to leave them without an income. It would mean the world to everyone at Club Car Cafe and the Concord community if Barstool noticed this small business and was able to help Ron continue to keep his doors open.
