The Ottawa Senators Are Causing Most Teams To Lose Their Mind, David Rittich To Try To Smash His

Through the first 15 games of the season, the Ottawa Senators went 2-12-1. Absolute dog shit in every sense of the word. There was plenty of reason for optimism heading into the season for Ottawa with the moves they made over the offseason and how much young talent they have. But 15 games into the year and it looked like this team was going to get curb stomped by the entire country of Canada this whole year.

But in their last 7 games, the Sens have gone 5-2. Included in those wins were a ridiculous 6-5 W against the Leafs where they came back from being down 5-1, and then back-to-back overtime wins against the Habs (technically one was in a shootout). And right after those back-to-back wins against the Canadiens, Montreal fired Claude Julien. So in just the past 10 days alone, the Senators have caused a complete meltdown by Toronto and they caused Montreal to fire their head coach.

Everybody knows the rules. You play against the Ottawa Senators in the 2nd half of February, you lose your damn mind. And last night it was David Rittich's turn.

Just pure frustration to the point where you lose control of your body and that anger takes over behind the wheel. That's what getting pecker slapped by the Sens will do to a man.

And maybe that was their plan all along. Play like shit early in the year, and then flip the switch to cause the other 6 Canadian teams to implode mentally, physically and emotionally. It may be a shorter season than normal, but 56 games is still a long time. You don't have to necessarily be the best team, you just have to be the last team standing. And if you're causing teams to can their HC and goalies to try to bash their skull through the wall? Well you're giving yourself a chance at the very least to turn it around.

But yeah. Can't blame Big Save Dave for being a little frustrated with his game last night.

Sheesh.
