South Carolina's Wes Clarke Hit Roughly 1,300 Feet of Home Runs in One Game
I feel sorry for the Winthrop pitchers that had to keep throwing to South Carolina's Wes Clarke on Tuesday night. Because all he did to that poor pitching staff was go 3-3 with 3 HR, 3 RBI, 2 BB and 4 R. Those two walks were probably a good call.
And none of the three home runs was a cheap one, either. They tallied a combined 1,282 feet, good for an average of 427 feet per tater. Just watch the absolute obliteration of that third baseball and the bat flip afterwards. This guy has some swagger.
Clarke will need to show it for a full season, but in 16 starts in 2020, he had a cool 1.120 OPS, eight home runs and 22 RBI. And if his performance on Tuesday is any indication, the Gamecock slugger might be rocketing up MLB Draft boards in 2021.
This guy is just fun to watch smack the baseball around the yard.
