Patrick Kane Should Win Every Award This Year

This is one of those situations where you have to look at the entire picture and ignore point totals, the top of the standings, and just recognize what is actually happening because NOBODY should have a better case for MVP than Patrick Kane. He had another 4 point game last night and the team needed every one of them to beat the Blue Jackets. As he goes, so does this organization. He has ascended to a different role and different stratosphere of hockey player. He is the franchise at this point.

The team looks like they have completely bought into to Jeremy Colliton's system. That doesn't happen without Patrick Kane. He's the heartbeat of the team. If he was a malcontent this team would be racing to the bottom of the standings with the Red Wings. That hasn't happened. Instead the Blackhawks are currently in a playoff position with a roster that has a rookie on every line and in every d pair and...in net. That is nothing short of a miracle. They aren't even high draft picks. Pius Suter, Brandon Hagel, Kurashev, and Mitchell are major contributors and none of them were drafted in the first round.

Kane is driving possession. He is cashing on chances. He is holding teammates accountable and he's turning Debrincat into an absolute stud on the left side. Kane is currently 3rd in the NHL in scoring behind McDavid and Draisaitl. Nobody does more with less than Patrick Kane. That has sort of been the story of his career. He's never played consistently with a true dominant center and the only other time he had a top 10 winger on his line was the two years with Panarin when of course he won the scoring title and MVP. I just saw the other day that Nicklas Backstrom is closing in on 700 assists for his career which is incredible. How many would Patrick Kane have if he spent his entire career feeding a guy like Ovechkin? 1000?

Patrick Kane has just made everyone around him better and that includes himself. Patrick Kane is so much better at 32 than he was at 22. That is so rare in this game, but it is a testament to his dedication to the game, himself, and the organization. If he isn't the most valuable guy in the league all things considered then they shouldn't give out the award anymore. Then he also goes and does things like this

Who does that? Only Patrick Kane, our Lord and Savior. It's why he is our symbol for the Spring. A new beginning. St Patrick
