Shailene Woodley Confirms She's Engaged to Aaron Rodgers and Definitely Doesn't Think That's a Big Enough Deal

So it's now officially official that Aaron Rodgers is engaged to Shailene Woodley. I'm as taken aback as anybody because it seems really out of left field, but obviously they want to keep a lot of their personal lives private and I think that's great. So whatever.

But Shailene said a couple things here that I wanted to touch on for just a second. Firstly, if I was one of the five or so greatest quarterbacks to ever live and my soon-to-be-wife referred to me as "someone who throws balls" — almost condescendingly, I may add — I'd be a little heated. Aaron Rodgers did not train at the highest level of human competition for the better part of four decades for his fiancée to talk about him like that.

Secondly, she said she's never been to a football game. And not that every football player needs to be married to some sort of sports junkie or anything like that, but her reasoning caught my attention.

"I still have never been to a football game because we met during this wacky time and all the stadiums were closed that he was playing in," she said.

Now I don't want to call out Woodley for disseminating fake news. But I feel like I have to.

There's Tom Brady at a game in Green Bay less than a month ago — presumably when Rodgers and Woodley were already engaged — and as you can see, there are plenty of people in the stands. And the stakes of this game were fairly high, if I remember correctly.

So all the stadiums weren't closed, Woodley just doesn't want to sit in the cold to watch a football game. Which is fine, but don't lie to America. You can't bullshit a bullshitter, Shailene.

I hope these two are very happy and together forever. I really do. But I also hope that Aaron is getting the respect he deserves because he has earned more than he seems to be getting from his fiancée.
