Jerry Stackhouse Blocks Any Fan Who Tweets Him Something From Jeff Goodman Because He Thinks They Are All Mad Bryce Drew Got Fired

[Athletic] - The only altercations in recent years have involved Stackhouse on Twitter with some media and fans. He blocked Goodman shortly after he was hired by Vanderbilt, though he said that was because Goodman was trashing Turner. He has traded barbs with some. He has blocked others, including several local media members in Nashville. This is not a big deal, but it does bring up the question of whether he’s too sensitive or occupied by critics.

“Maybe someone like a Jeff Goodman said something — and I’ve got him blocked, anyway — so now a fan wants me to know what Jeff Goodman says, so he tags me,” Stackhouse said. “Well, now you’re blocked, too. I don’t want to see this on my timeline. I don’t want the noise. Don’t want the hate. Y’all mad your man got fired, man. That’s the real world. New regimes come in and they bring in their people. And change happens. And it can happen, especially when you don’t win a game. If I don’t win a game, I don’t know what the hell I’d do. But I couldn’t be mad about nothing. Even in my situation. But that’s what people tried to lose sight of, the reality of where we are.”

Jerry Stackhouse is a fucking wildcard man. There was the report of him going after a fan on Twitter earlier this year:

And now we have this story of him essentially saying he doesn't give a fuck, he's going to block anyone on Twitter that tweets him something that Jeff Goodman says. Why? Because Goodman was critical of the hire, you know, doing his job. Goodman is an analyst, this is what he's supposed to do. You don't just immediately say a hire is going to be great all the time. It's not like Stackhouse is a bad coach by any means, it's a weird fit at Vanderbilt and he didn't really do himself a ton of favors with his staff. What I mean by that is he didn't really bring in guys with college experience. His assistants are a former high school coach, a former NBA assistant and a guy who was the quality control guy. Look at what Juwan Howard did at Michigan. He brought in an experienced coach in Phil Martelli, he kept Saddi Washington from Beilein's staff, who is one of the most respected assistants in the country. That's part of why Howard is having success at Michigan.

But there is something hilarious about Stackhouse going full Rico Bosco and blocking anyone who tweets him something. I wonder if he goes through the likes on a tweet like Rico does and blocks people. Shit, he should hire Rico to run his Twitter account. Now Stack's reasoning is that he thinks Goodman is boys with Drew and anyone who agrees with Goodman didn't want Drew fired.

Stackhouse also said he has no beef with Goodman, who he’s known for many years through the AAU circuit, and that he believes Goodman has been critical “because he’s buddies with Bryce Drew.”

To that, Goodman said he simply thinks Drew was fired a year too early and added: “I think I’ve met Bryce maybe four or five times in my life. That ain’t my buddy at all, trust me.”

I'm a big fan of spite, so I respect Stack digging his heels in here. Create a narrative, run with the narrative and build your team around it. Will it work? Who knows. Vanderbilt isn't good right now, but they are at least won an SEC game this season, something they literally didn't do in Drew's last year. I wonder if I'll get blocked now?
