College Hoops Player Gets In A Fight With A Teammate, Tosses His Jersey On The Court And Walks Off Mid-Game
I've never seen this before. I mean we've seen teammates get in fights with each other, that's not abnormal. But I've never seen a player take his jersey off, toss it on the court and walk off. Not only that, the rest of the team just didn't give a shit. This isn't some scrub. Tristian Jarrett is leading the team in scoring at 19.5 per game. The guy he got into it with was Jayveous McKinnis, who is the second leading scorer. What the hell is going on down there, Deion? I love the quote by the head coach here (h/t HBCU Gameday)
“It’s sports, you have that all the time, so we’ll go back in the dressing room and address it,” he said. “That’s a simple problem to fix, so we’ll just go back in and I think winning cures a lot of things. You got a happy locker room and our guys love playing with each other. It won’t be a big problem we’ll fix that in the next five or six minutes.”
He's not wrong that you have players getting into it all the time. But when's the last time you saw someone straight up walk off the court? That's where I've never seen it before. Pretty solid jersey toss too. Mid-stride, directly behind him for the person to pick up, always looking straight ahead. People quitting and tossing jersey's will never not make me laugh. I remember in high school some kid tried to quit our team and politely folded up his jersey and left it on the baseline before his mother lost her shit on him and made him apologize. Not that it mattered since he was a bench warmer anyways. We're talking about the leading scorer here at Jackson State.
All I know is Jackson State should have let Snacks cook last night. I don't care if they won, you have to let Snacks cook
PS: The wildest fight between teammates in college basketball for me is still Mississippi State's Renardo Sidney and Elgin Bailey
