We have been in business almost 26 years. I live, work and vote all in the 4th ward in Westfield NJ. It's a small town dream. I employ many teachers as well as high school age kids. We teach not only adults but hundreds of kids, starting at age 3 and up valuable life lessons that they will carry with them throughout their life. We also provide a social network where adults and children come together to not only learn culinary skills but to be part of a community that socializes like family. Everywhere I go, whenever I state the name of my business, it is immediately recognized either by some having taken a class with us, albeit a regularly scheduled cooking class, private event, or a corporate team building event, having had us cater a family event, and or having a connection with a child that has either had or attended a cooking birthday party with us or attended a summer cooking camp at our facility. I started this business in 1995 while working full time in another industry, with my wife and I raising two small children, and worked 7 days a week to bring it to a point that I could leave my regular full time job and continued to work 7 days a week keeping it alive. Both my kids grew up working at Classic Thyme and continue to help out whenever I need them. Our employees are all considered like family and we all help each other out which makes for a wonderful work environment which is why I have a long tenured workforce that feels like a large family.
