My Favorite Barstool Video Ever, Office Manager Brett's Youngstown Mural
Today the often terrible VivaLaStool twitter account was posting throwback radio clips since today was the final day of Barstool Radio on Power 85. Included in those clips was when our beloved Office Manager Brett almost took Smitty's eye out with a paintball shot that went probably 200 MPH. Quite frankly, OMB firing a paintball gun towards people sitting at their desks is one of the more outrageous things he's ever done. But not as outrageous as the Youngstown Mural.
For some background on the mural, Bretty Boy had been pumping this up for week. He'd pull me aside and go "Nate Dawg, you can't repeat this, but this mural ceremony is going to be the biggest thing Barstool has ever done." And I'd be like "wow, why?" And he'd go "Nate Dawg, I can't tell you. Just trust me."
He hyped this up maybe more than anything at Barstool had ever been hyped at that time. Everyone could not wait for this mural ceremony. We thought Barack Obama himself might show up. It was going to be covered by every major media outlet. This was Barstool's big break.
And then, well, see for yourself:
Unbelievable. Like a scene from The Office, with the delivery man and the barking dogs. Dave paid $2k out of his pocket at the advice of Office Manager Brett to have a mural painted in a back alley. To this day the locals say there has never been a single iota of foot traffic in the area.
All in all, my favorite Barstool video ever. I miss you, OMB.
PS: Here's the Smitty/paintball video. We're all so young. So, so, young.
