Tottenham's Serge Aurier Straight Up Left The Stadium After Being Benched By Jose Mourinho At Halftime

In August of 2017, Tottenham and PSG agreed upon a 23.1 million pound transfer for right-back Serge Aurier. Since then, Aurier has had a rollercoaster ride with the Spurs in North London. His InfoGoal player rating has slowly been dropping since his 2017/18 season and there are times he seems like enemy #1 to Spurs fans. There were high hopes for him at the beginning of the 2020/21 Premier League campaign as he looked to be adjusting well to the Jose Mourinho system. Yesterday, that hope ended.

Aurier (at the top of the screen) did not mark Sadio Mane as he streaked down the right side of the field, which eventually led to Mane crossing it to Firmino for the opening goal thanks to Eric Dier being an absolute idiot and not clearing it. This was the last play of the 1st half and Aurier's day as he was benched at the half. Aurier then decided he had enough and it was time to go home.

It appears that he and goalie Hugo Lloris got into a massive fight in the dressing room (that's what they call it across the pond).

This gives me serious Vontae Davis vibes, but Aurier didn't end up retiring like the former Dolphins/Bills/Colts DB.

Not sure how Mourinho will handle this, but I assume he just won't give a fuck. The guy plays by his own rules. You don't wanna be here? Good, go away. We'll replace you.
