The Mets Announced That Zack Scott Will Take Over As Acting General Manager

Alright, so this seemed to be the logical next move to happen after Jared Porter got axed last week and based on everything we know about Zack Scott, I guess we should be happy? He was reportedly the second choice of Sandy Alderson in the initial GM search and anybody who spent a bunch of time work with analytics for the Red Sox instantly has a big baseball brain in my eyes along with a good juju bump for arriving as an intern in 2004 when everything about the Sox got turned on its head. Granted, Jared Porter checked those boxes as well and it appears he may have been a giant creep behind the scenes. But I am going to believe that the Mets did their due dilligence, couldn't find any horrifying skeletons in Scott's closet, and waited a week to promote him just to make sure there weren't any other better options out there.

So welcome to the big boy chair, Zack. Or at least the acting big boy chair. There are already millions of people who think they can do your job better than you on #MetsTwitter, but you are the only person being paid to actually do it. Now get us a real center fielder, a lefty in the 'pen, decide what you are going to do with Trevor Bauer one way or the other because all this hoopla is so fucking annoying, save some money so we can still shop in the gourmet section at the trade deadline, and most importantly pleeeeeeeeease don't be a fucking creep.

I'm sure we'll talk more about Zack Scott on tomorrow's We Gotta Believe along with the George Springer and J.T. Realmuto signings. We also have a very special guest that I cannot wait to talk to since his site was the center of my sports universe in the 2000s.
