We opened in 2004 as a restaurant and bakery able to host events. Our events became so popular we started catering and have since catered events of up to 700 people while maintaining a year round staff in a typically seasonal restaurant area . This year we lost 98% of our weddings, events, holiday parties etc. due to COVID. In addition to losing catering we had to remove two thirds of our seating to accommodate state regulation distancing. The decrease in seating, loss of catering, general fear of dining out and increased case numbers have caused our sales to hit a 70% decrease in the last two months. We currently have 15 full time employees that rely on Mae's to provide a living, our goal is to keep everyone employed. Our employees are family here(6 having worked here for over 10 years). We are very active in our community with food donations, team sponsorships, school events, supporting local theater companies, annual 5K race sponsorships, student art shows, Sports Boosters donations and the Annual Banquet for one of the oldest Alumni Associations in the Country (Morse High School). Over the last 16 years we have faced some challenges but nothing like this. Financial support at this time would secure pay checks, pay vendors, help with seasonally high utility bills and overall peace of mind in a gut wrenching year of uncertainty.
