Remember This Guy? Urban Meyer Hired Him To Be The Jaguars Strength And Conditioning Coach

I love this.

Urban Meyer has decided not to pursue gutting The Ohio State coaching staff, leaving Ryan Day with his guys to continue to compete for National Championships each and every year. And while he's leaving his man guy Coach Mick to be the strength coach in Columbus, he knew he has to bring some of that Ohio toughness down to Jacksonville to build his culture the right way. Enter Anthony Schlegel:

This is the mentality a strength and conditioning coach needs. Come onto my field in boat shoes? Meet the turf. Forget an application, just send this footage instead. We aren't taking no shit from ANYONE. And you can tell your billionaire owner to save some money on security too -- no help needed.

This is exactly what the Jacksonville Jaguars need. A little midwestern edge to them. But after finishing the season 1-15, are we sure they want him as a coach and not a player…..? I haven't seen a Jaguar make an open field tackle like that since…..uhhhh….? I can't name any all time great defensive players from Jacksonville. Shout out to Jimmy Smith, Mark Brunell, and Fred Taylor though. Anyways, I guess if covid is still a thing next year and they run into a situation where they're short on linebackers, boom, suit up your strength coach.

I will say that I'll miss Schlegs on my drive into work each morning. His radio show is pretty entertaining, but I guess you can't pass up heading to Florida to work for Urban Meyer. Living the dream baby. I may need to bulk up, tackle a fan at a game, and start applying for these jobs too.
