Hi Dave, Erika, and Crew -
My name is Abbie. I'm writing to you from Boston, and I am originally from New Jersey. I met my best friend over 12 years ago in high school in New Jersey. Her name is Raquel Coviello and her family owns The Broadway Diner with locations in Summit, NJ and Bayonne NJ. In addition to proudly serving "The World's Best Pancakes", The Coviello Family serves police officers meals for free, donates to numerous charities and has kept their staff employed throughout this horrible pandemic.
The Coviello family has been in businesses for decades and like so many others, they are really hurting this year. Below is a picture of Raquel's grandma (now 85!!) in the diner back in the earlier days, and her brother Rocky with one of their employees a few years ago. Rocky, recently graduated college, and this year he quit his job to go work for his father at the diner to help in any way he could.
This year the Coviello family has continually improvised to bring in business. Introducing pop up BBQ's in the parking lot and new take out menus and items. They have not thrown in the towel once and they need your help. I cannot think of anyone more deserving.
Please help Raquel and the Coviello's continue to stay open and pay their staff until we can get through this difficult time.
There is no family more generous or gracious than the Coviello family. I know if roles were reversed, she would be the first person writing for your help on my behalf.
