Hello,
My name is J.R. McArdle and my Dad, Jerry McArdle, owns a small neighborhood bar right outside of Philadelphia, Jack’ Tavern. He has been in the bar business for over 40 years, owning his own bar for over 30 years. My Dad has put his heart and soul into his business, working day and night for his whole life.
Since the pandemic began in the middle of March, he has not paid himself one dime from the business, in order to pay his 6 employees and keep the business afloat. My Mom and Dad have spent countless hours working to accommodate patrons as best as they can, and have spent countless more thinking of ways to make the bar successful while there has been limited opportunity.
Jack’s Tavern is a bar for the working man, a bar that loves its customers. It’s a neighborhood joint where everyone loves to have a cold one while watching a sports game. They’ve had customers coming in there since my Dad has owned it, starting in 1987. It’s a bar Barstool would appreciate. Ice cold beer, great bar food, and great friends.
I am grateful to see this fund started and appreciate what you are doing for small businesses. My Dad and Mom would never ask anyone for any help, and that is why I am reaching out on their behalf. Any help would be greatly appreciated. And we would love to have you for a beer sometime in the future.
