If Being For The Boys Was A Stat, Landon Dickerson Would Be A 99 Overall

Throughout the history of college football, 85 players have won the Heisman Trophy. That's a ridiculously rare fraternity to find yourself in given the sheer amount of guys who have played college ball.

But the list of guys who have been able to pick up Coach Saban like a small child and then lived to tell about it? Well that list is almost non-existent. Sure, AJ McCarron got that jumping hug from Coach, but Landon Dickerson? He picked him up like a big boy, gave him a ride onto the field, and not only did he not immediately get shredded to pieces but Nick Saban seemed genuinely joyed with the entire situation.

You can't tell because of the mask, but there's a definitely a smile beginning to form there. And that's a testament to just how For The Boys Landon Dickerson is.

Here's a guy who won the Rimington Trophy and made sure he brought the rest of his linemen up on stage with him to accept the award.

A guy who was just a few weeks removed from knee surgery before the National Championship game, but still got fully suited up for the game so he could get in there for the final couple of snaps.

And when you're as For The Boys as Landon Dickerson is, the boys are always going to be for you. Pretty sure you can see that on display here with how hype the rest of the guys were to see him run out onto the field.

He's the type of guy who shows up to a party and you know it's going to be a great time. The type of guy who you know has done everything in his life to become the best Billy Bob that he can possibly be. And people forget that Billy Bob was the most important player in that district championship game.

So when you really think about it, the Jacksonville Jaguars have a pretty tough decision to make in April with that 1st overall pick.

Sidenote: What do you think the chances are that Howie Roseman even watched that game last night? My guess is that he started celebrating after his plan to get Doug fired finally worked around 2pm yesterday. Then he probably passed out an hour before kickoff and missed the whole thing. Not to worry though. It's not like he is going to take anyone who was playing last night with that 6th overall pick anyway. There was far too much talent in the Pac-12 for Howie to pass on this year. I think Arizona had a guy who caught 3 or 4 passes this year, that's our guy.
