The Barstool Fund - Kite & Key (Thanks To Penn National Gaming)

Big thanks to Penn National Gaming for their donation to help cover our next business…. Kite & Key (Philadelphia, PA).

Located in the heart of the Museum District, the Kite & Key offers a wide variety of craft and imported beer from around the world. The pub fare rivals the beer selection, highlighted by the famous mussels and Best of Philly veggie burger.

Dave,

Thank you so much for your continued support of all the small businesses out there!  To say this has been the hardest 10 months is a total understatement.  In February we had 35 employees and this pandemic has dropped us to 8. Most of the staff we lost were part time servers and bartenders who were students who basically went home when the schools shut down and the We have continually tried to modify our business to abide by these regulations that have been put on us, but what is happening now is unbearable.  We have been in business for 13 wonderful years and have been very involved with our neighborhood.  Being in the Art Museum district and close to center city was a blessing until everything was shut down.  We have a steady crew of regulars who continue to support Kite & Key (which is encouraging), but quite frankly it is not enough, especially with the regulations the Gov Wolf and Mayor Kenney has put on us.  This makes it near impossible to operate and generate enough sales to pay rent.  We are running on a minimal budget and my partner and I have kept things going for our staff.  THEY WANT TO WORK!  They don't want to be without a job or unemployment.  Our staff and regulars are the core of our business.  We look forward to getting back to serving the community and visitors that come to the neighborhood from all over the country.  To be perfectly honest we really need help with Rent. This would allow us to at least survive from month to month until we are able to open fully.  We have put a ton of work into making sure the operation is safe for staff and guests only to have the ability to operate torn away by these politicians.  I hope The Barstool Fund can help!  Thank you for taking time to read this and stay safe!
