What The Fuck Is The Plan, Bruins?

To say I don't see the vision right now would be an understatement. I'm usually a "well, let's wait and see how it plays out" but this offseason for the Bruins has SUCKED for the Bruins and if this season ends in disappointment, as I think we all suspect it will, then the whole front office should be gone. There's been no excuse for not getting David Krejci a serviceable right winger for years, but particularly at the deadline last year when you were in first place in the NHL and that was a glaring hole (they "tried," I guess. Kinda. They didn't get one). There was no excuse for not even having an offer on the table for Torey Krug. No excuse for having Kevan Miller be your #1 offseason priority. And now, no excuse for letting one of the team's all time greats walk out the door for pennies. 

If you're thinking of slandering Chara with some "the game has passed him by" bullshit then save it. Is he the same exact player he was in 2011? Obviously not. Did he spend this past season logging about 20 minutes of ice time per game, most on the team, largely against the opponent's first line? Was he a top penalty killer in the NHL? Is he an outstanding leader who young guys regularly thank for teaching them how to survive in the NHL? Yup, yup, and yup. If you can find someone else who can do that for EIGHT HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS then please, point him out. I'm all ears.

I'm all for a Jacobs slander when they deserve it but I don't think you can even put this on them. This isn't a money move, did I mention the 800k? This is front office and, I assume, coaching. They told Zdeno Chara to kick rocks. They couldn't find a spot for one of the greatest players in the storied franchise's history. They want to go into training camp with Matt Grzelcyk being the only left D that you really know what you're gonna get. Everyone else is a toss up, a hope, and a prayer. In 2011 the Bruins were set to go on a fucking run and now the anchor of that core is gone. They squandered Chara's last great years and they'll eventually do the same to Bergeron, Krejci, and Marchand if you let them.
