"You Either Die A Hero, Or You Live Long Enough To See Yourself Become The Villain" - Harvey Dent" - Gordon Bombay

Disney announced a shit ton of new shit yesterday during their Investors Day. Roughly 50% of what they mentioned was, in some form or another, a Star Wars series. Which is awesome because Star Wars kicks ass and Hayden Christensen has the silkiest head of lettuce in the entire galactic universe, so having him come back in the Kenobi series is going to rule even if he turns into a giant uggo Darth Vader.

What a stallion. Total beauty. Buddy should be the CEO of Pantene. But while everyone was losing their minds over the tsunami wave of new Star Wars content coming our way, the real story here is that we got our first look at the new Mighty Ducks series, Game Changers.

The whole reason the Ducks exist in the first place is because Bombay decided to polish off a fifth of Jack before hitting the road in his Acura Legend. But aside from court ordered community service for catching a DUI, the Ducks existed to be an alternative to the Hawks. To show that you don't need to run your hockey club like the Soviet Red Army in order to have success. As an alternative to the whole "it's not worth winning if you can't win big" mumbo jumbo.

And here we are. Just under 30 years later, and the Ducks have become everything that they set out to destroy.

You've got Dylan Playfair out here cutting kids left and right. You've got hardo hockey parents showing up to practices with sports psychologists. Chances are the whole team is on the Russian Gas. And I'm sure they'll try their hardest to just shove all the allegations about Coach Reilly under the rug, because I'm sure they're out there.

Again, everything that the Ducks were originally opposed to is everything thing that they have become. You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

Good news for Bombay here is two-fold. First up, it appears as if he's presumed the role of Hans these days. Kind of like Luke Skywalker taking on the role if Yoda, if we want to tie everything back to Star Wars. So as the old man with wisdom just kinda hanging out in a hockey shop all day, Bombay has all the time in the world to help start up this new team to take down the monster he had originally created.

The 2nd piece of that good news is there's now a new hockey mom for him to wheel. Dude is addicted to wheeling his players' moms. Lauren Graham doesn't stand a chance. Wheel the mom, give the kid the "C", Bombay is gonna be running it back and strictly playing the hits. Gotta love it.

P.S. - Have a feeling the "I have more of a podcast body" kid is going to be a star.

Quack. Quack. Quack. Quack.
