Being Auston Matthews' Personal Practice Goalie Seems Like A 0/10 Experience. Would Not Recommend
Picture this day. You wake up in the morning and go to brush your teeth. You open up the medicine cabinet only to realize that you're out of toothpaste. I mean you knew that you were running low for a while but you just kept putting it off every day hoping that a magical fairy would come and replace it for you. Guess it's just mouthwash for you today. You get dressed, you head off to work and you grab a cup of coffee. It's already room temperature, barely drinkable. Your boss is on your ass all day at work, your lunch order gets screwed up, there's traffic on your way home. You get home and slap together a shitty meal for yourself to guzzle down for dinner. It's Thursday Night Football and your beloved Patriots are playing. But right after kickoff, your cable cuts out. Why do you still have cable in 2020? I don't know, you're a fucking moron. But you can't watch the game and the Pats end up losing.
Seems like a pretty terrible day, right?
Well it still doesn't have shit on Peter Budaj waking up every morning knowing that he has to get absolutely dusted by Auston Matthews later in the day. Just getting used and abused out there. I've seen toilet paper treated with more care than the shit that Peter Budaj has to go through here. I mean did he even bother to check Auston's HockeyDB page before he agreed to this? Dude put up 47 goals last year. Almost 50 goals in the show and this guy hits you up to put in a little 1v1 work. What kind of a sick, twisted, son of a bitch would do that to another human? That's what the shooter tutor was invented for. So goalies don't have to get abused like this on the regular.
So while you're going through your shit day today, just remember that someone out there always has it worse than you. Unless you're Peter Budaj. In which case, you have it the worst.
