Let's Talk About Laundry Day

Let's talk a bit about laundry day. I never knew the concept of sending out laundry to be done until I moved to NYC. And let me tell you, it's a delight. You drop your laundry off in the morning, and pick it up a few hours later. Yeah, they charge you a bit more than what it would cost to do yourself, but oh my god the convenience of it all. It comes back folded, smelling fresh, ready to go. You don't have to worry about someone taking your clothes out of the washer and putting them wet on top of a dirty drier.. or even worse someone taking your clean clothes out of a drier and tossing them wherever the fuck they want. None of that. The only thing you have to worry about is forgetting to pick up your laundry before they close. Nothing worse than bringing your laundry in on a Friday and then having to wait til Monday to get it. But getting it back? The best.

Also a very weird thing happened to me today. I go to the same wash and fold place every week, sometimes every 2 weeks. Have a nice little rapport there. They do drop off, but it's down the block so I like picking it up in person, gets some steps in. Anywho, I've never gotten it delivered. Ever. But today, out of nowhere, he was like "later today?" and I was like "yeah please" and then he rattled off my address off the top of his head as if he's my roommate or something. But wait, I don't have a roommate, not at all! I was like uhhhh, yeah, that's the one. I have not the faintest clue how he did that. I didn't question it though. Dude just knows my address and apartment number. It was easily the most shocked I've ever been. I might ask him how he knew that, but I also sort of want to keep the mystique of it all. Laundry guys just know things, I suppose.

Anyways, here is more Hailey Grice. Happy laundry day everyone.
