Alfred Molina BACK As Doctor Octopus For Spider-Man 3!

Alfred Molina is putting back on the metal arms and will reprise his role as the villainous Doctor Octopus, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.

Molina turned in a fan-favorite performance in Sam Raimi's 2004 sequel Spider-Man 2 as Otto Octavius, a brilliant scientist who becomes an eight-limbed villain who pushed Toby Maguire's Spider-Man to the limits. Molina's involvement in the upcoming Spider-Man movie was first was rumored late last month, when GWW reported the actor had been spotted on set.

Not only was Molina's Doc Oc one of the best villains in all of Spider-Man history, but his performance basically made Spider-Man 2 the fan-revered property it is today. In what was one of the first few entries into the modern comic book movie era, he was probably the first truly 3D villain. He had a fantastic mini-arc with an emotional ending and he also was the driver of the infamous subway fight.

Also, If it wasn't already extremely obvious after the Jamie Foxx casting, the live-action multiverse is in FULL swing now. We have co-stars from the previous two Spidey franchises back on board, and now all we're waiting for is the confirmation that Garfield and Tobey are involved. I've said it before, but I think Garfield really does love the character and I doubt it will be hard to get him back. Tobey is a whole different animal, though. The Pussy Posse co-president kind of just does what he wants and doesn't give a shit who knows it. The one incentive he will get tho? Shmoola, baby. He is going to get the bag thrown at him if he is the last holdout left for the multiverse because Sony/Marvel KNOWS that his appearance is what will make people go fucking CRAZY.

Let's watch some Doc Ock!!!
