F1 Driver Who Miraculously Survived The Brutal Crash Last Week Gives A First Person Account Of How He Escaped The Inferno

Insane. Absolutely insane. There were a few quick shots of the crash towards the end of that clip, but here's the full thing for those of you who didn't see...

Chaps also wrote a blog on it that you can check out here. I think it goes without saying, but the fact that he was able to escape relatively unharmed given how brutal the crash was is beyond wild. What's crazier is that he actually thought he was going to die. He legit came to terms with it...

"I sit back down, all my muscles relax, not a smile but at peace with myself thinking, 'I'm dead.' Which part is going to burn first is the foot is it going to be the foot is it going to be the hand? Is it going to be painful?"

I can't even imagine how scary that must've been. Like he said, from the time he crashed to the time he escaped was twenty-eight seconds but it took him three separate tries to get out which I'm sure felt like a lifetime. What a nightmare. Thank God he's okay. Hopefully he's able to make a full recovery and get back on the track sooner rather than later. Now here's my favorite clip from Talladega Nights. Take it away, Reese..
