Vikings QB Kirk Cousins Defends His Grilling Habits That Have Faced Heavy Criticism

On today's Pardon My Take, Mr. Cat and Mr. Commenter welcomed on a brand new guest to the show. Each of them have made some, let's say, comments about this man over the last few years. But today, they had a chance to say it to his face. Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins appeared on today's episode to answer a wide range of questions including one about Creed, playing in primetime, Justin Jefferson, and much more. Among the things Mr. Cat and Mr. Commenter have said about Cousins in the past was regarding his interesting grilling tactics. But the Michigan State product was here to defend those actions:

Mr. Cat: What the hell were you doing with your grill when you put the tinfoil down with the steaks?

Kirk Cousins: You know, I like my steaks to stay juicy. I don't like when the juice just drips into the grill and the grill absorbs it. So, I figured I like to keep my steaks as juicy as possible. Now, I've since been told that I need to sacrifice that to be able to get that true grill flavor.

Mr. Cat and Mr. Commenter: Yes.

Kirk Cousins: That was the last day I used aluminum foil ever. But that was my thought. But apparently it was a flawed, flawed thinking.

Mr. Cat: OK, yeah. You're coachable.

Mr. Commenter: You don't get to taste the fire if you've got the aluminum foil boat down there.

Mr. Cat: Because we might have said that you aren't a franchise quarterback solely based on that.

Kirk Cousins: Yeah, and rightfully so. Right, I mean, it was my fault, but the good news is, I was able to fix it. You can pivot, you know, my mistake. And since then, we've been doing just fine on the grill.

You like that? We like that. Mr. Commenter said this perfectly. It is very hard to hate on a guy like Kirk Cousins after this interview. Say what you want about criticizing his game, but he is certainly an easy guy to root for. He even grew up a Bears fan! Great news for Mr. Cat.
