Ryan Day Has Coronavirus.....What's Urban Meyer Doing The Next Couple Weeks?

NOOOOOOOOOOOO! How does this happen? I thought Ryan Day was living away from his family and inside the bubble created by Ohio State football? Folks, we may have a problem in Columbus. There has apparently been spread throughout the program, and some unnamed key players are already missing tomorrow's game. But now The General is out? I would have to imagine that he's had close contact with some very important people on this team. I do not like this one bit. Pray for Justin Fields.

But let's be very clear right now: this news means tomorrow's game is going to be 54-10 instead of 56-10. Missing Ryan Day does not matter one iota against Illinois. The line may shift from Buckeyes -28.5 to Buckeyes -28. Maybe. And it won't matter the following week against Michigan State either. I'm not concerned about the team. Like, the people replying things like this need to be checked into a mental institution.

Buddy, get your brain checked. I'm not concerned about winning today, winning next week, or making the playoff. What I am concerned about is the Big Ten's testing protocols and mandatory quarantine time. Isn't it something like 3 weeks? Is that the same for coaches? Because the Buckeyes take on MICHIGAN on December 12th.

And listen, I know Michigan is probably the worst team in the country right now and a 4-year old could out coach Jim Harbaugh, but it's still nice to have someone at the helm who has experience with the rivalry. My suggestion is this: Urban Meyer.

Giphy Images.

I know they gave Larry Johnson the nod this week against Illinois and I'm sure he'll do a fine job. But what would it hurt to give Urban, who people forget is still employed as the assistant athletic director at Ohio State, a call? Hell, half of these players are his anyways! There's not one person more qualified on Earth to coach the Buckeyes in Ryan Day's absence than Urban Meyer. Do it for old times sake. Get the band back together. Could you imagine?

***Pending he passes a physical from a medical professional. It's always safety first with Urban, always.
