OUR NC DINOS ARE THE 2020 KOREAN SERIES CHAMPIONS AND JUST WON A GIGANTIC SWORD TROPHY!!!
HISTORY HAS BEEN MADE!!! I cannot believe the NC Dinos are finally champions! I mean I literally cannot believe this season is finally over because the Dinos have been a motherfucking wagon since the first pitch of the season. But the KBO starting months before MLB opened their coronaseason yet the Korean Series still ending a month after the Dodgers won the World Series is wild. That's two separate covid waves in the US of A. However anybody who knows anything about Korean baseball can agree that there was no team that deserved to raise the [whatever the name of the KBO trophy is] more than this year's Dinos after they dominated the regular season and took care of business against the Bears. Wait, what was that?
OH MY GODDDDD. I dare Rob Manfred to call that a piece of metal. I double dare him! Has the KBO been the best baseball league on the planet this whole time and it took a global pandemic for us to find out?
Speaking of the best, what can you say about the 2020 NC Dinos that hasn't been said about the 1927 Yankees? A collection of absolute mashers supported by a stellar 1-2 pitching combo of [checks notes] Koo Chang-mo and Drew Rucinski with manager [checks notes again] Lee Dong-wook pressing all the right buttons in a fabled ballpark like [checks notes a THIRD time, I really should have read them before starting this blog] Changwon NC Park. You can keep your Ruths and Gehrigs that didn't have to deal with relievers throwing a million miles per hour in the middle of a goddamn pandemic. I'll take immortals like Yang Eui-ji, Na Sung-bum, No Jin-hyuk crushing Dino Dongs into the cheap seats like a coked up stegasaurus on Andro.
You know what Babe Ruth was doing while the Spanish Flu was choking out the entire planet? Operating in anonymity as some sideshow freak both pitching and hitting for the Boston Red Sox before being sold off for cash to fund a goddamn play. That ain't nothing compared to Aaron Altherr becoming the player Brodie Van Wagenen always thought he could be halfway across the globe as a real life Jon Dowd (shout out MVP Baseball 05) during the time of Covid.
Hats off to the Doosan Bears for taking two games from a juggernaut to make it a series and congratulations to the Dinos as well as all the fans on Dino Island that have been waiting for this moment for far too long.
And of course a special congrats to Swole Daddy, the best dinosaur to ever roam God's green Earth.
Time to celebrate because we love our quaranteams are just as much as our normal teams because they got us through some of the roughest patches of our lives. But it's time to stop living in the past because the Dinos have the brightest future of any baseball team on the planet not owned by Steve Cohen.
NOW HIT THE WORLD KOREAN CHAMPIONS MUSIC!!!
