I Regret To Inform You That The Baseball Hall Of Fame Voters Are At It Again

It's the MLB Hall Of Fame voters time to shine. The one time a year where they can make an insane example of someone by not voting for them and make the rounds in the media talking about how smart they are. No one gets off more on not voting for players than Cooperstown voters. This is where we welcome Steven Marcus to the chat. Steven used to write for Newsday and last year submitted a Derek Jeter only ballot. Kind of weird to leave Larry Walker completely off the ballot, eh?

This year we see Steven has already submitted his ballot, and it is completely blank. Not in any form of protest, but he doesn't think any of the candidates are worthy of being members in Cooperstown. Now I get that it's his ballot, he can do whatever he wants. He's forgotten more baseball than I'll ever know. He voted for Trevor Hoffman in 2016, 2017, and 2018, but no Billy Wagner? I get that Hoffman is arguably the 2nd best closer ever, but Wagner is pretty damn good and his % has been climbing. To just not vote for ANYONE is pretty insane, I can understand not voting any of the 1st year people, but no one at all? If you were 100% one of those "NO ROOM FOR ROIDS IN THE HALL" people I would get it, but it doesn't make sense because he voted for Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens in 2013 according to his past ballots.

Why vote for those two guys in 2013, but only that season and never again? Like I said above, it's his ballot, he worked a long time to get it, but submitting a blank ballot isn't the move. It's like he thinks no steroid guys should be in and no one else deserves to be in. That's just not the case. There are a few guys on that ballot who 100% deserve to be in Cooperstown, maybe not first or second ballot, but they should be in. These voters take the ballot and turn it into a story about themselves every year and it's wack. Take these guys voting rights away for pulling stunts like this. I'm sure this won't be the last blank one we see either, these guys crave the attention. Like imagine not thinking Andruw Jones deserves to be in the Hall. Asinine.
