The Celtics Officially Released Their City Edition Jerseys And They Are Clean As Hell

I know it's the cool and trendy thing to do to shit on everything Celtics right now, even from their own fanbase, but I'm sorry, these are clean as hell. Last week we got the leak of the top, but I wanted to see the shorts and have it come from the actual team before I made my final decision. We all remember the blue jersey disaster from last season.

Are they simple? Yup. That may bother some, but I love it. The Celts don't need to try anything weird or extravagant. The last time they did that we got gray disasters with sleeves. The tribute to the banner is a great way to tip your cap to your history and the city, and seeing as how we are getting robbed of Summer League this year, I don't even mind that they sort of look like the Celts Summer League uniform.

Now just like I said last week, I'm willing to concede that my feelings towards these has an outside influence

but there's just something about the green and white that will always play for me. It's really all I ever need. Everyone knows the Celts home whites whites are one of the best and most iconic jerseys in all of sports, so I have no problem with their alternates taking that look and tweaking it slightly.

The big thing I wanted to see though was the shorts. To me that was a huge factor in how this jersey look would pan out. Now that we see what those look like, it confirmed it for me. I need those things IMMEDIATELY to go with my Larry Legend shorts

I also think it goes without saying that this look is better than what we got last year. That never felt right. The color, the font, it didn't quite hit the mark for me. These almost remind me of the 2018 version that personally I thought worked

So tell me I'm in the minority, that's fine. I can handle it. But these are sneaky fire and it's OK to admit it. Honestly I'm mostly relieved they didn't have another grey jersey situation. I think we're all still recovering from those disasters.
