Chris Paul Is Officially Headed To The Phoenix Suns

Who else was sititng here for the last hour waiting for the first big time NBA trade bomb to drop? All of us, that's who. Well here we go, Chris Paul is looking like the newest point guard for the Phoenix Suns. This is a trade that actually had some legit rumors last week

and I'll say it again, I LOVE this move for the Suns. They want to make the playoffs and they had to do something to keep Booker happy. Bringing Paul in for that package is a big time win. Losing Oubre hurts, but you have to give something to get something and the Suns are better as a result of this deal. You knew this shoe was going to drop soon once OKC traded Schroder. They are blowing that thing up. Chris Paul showed us all that he absolutely has a lot left in the tank, and now a three headed monster of Booker/Paul/Ayton should be pretty fucking good. Certainly enough to compete for a playoff spot. Think of what Paul was able to do with a young rebuilding team in OKC. Now he gets to do the same in Phoenix.

I'm actually really surprised the cheap ass Suns owner was willing to commit this type of money to Paul, but the Suns are riding high after their bubble performance so why no go for it. You don't think this will help the Suns?

When you're a team like the Suns and haven't been much of a free agent destination, you have to take swings like this if you're looking to get into contention. Worst case you flip him in a few years or he opts out, but nothing they appeared to give up is all that crippling. There are still shooters on this team even without Oubre Jr. 

I'm just happy we officially have our first bomb of the day. It's only going to get crazier from here and it just goes to show that ANY contract is tradable. Doesn't matter how big it is, things can always be worked out.
