The Sun – Pabst Brewing Co. is changing owners for the second time in roughly four years, as Russia’s Oasis Beverages and TSG Consumer Partners LLC linked up to buy the company behind American brews such as Natty Boh. Pabst, which also sells brands such as Old Milwaukee, will remain based in Los Angeles, where it relocated after its last sale. Eugene Kashper, the chairman of Oasis Beverages, will become Pabst’s CEO, TSG Consumer Partners said late on Thursday. Oasis Beverages, which Kashper founded in 2008, will get a majority stake in Pabst, while TSG will take a minority stake. “Pabst Blue Ribbon is the quintessential American brand – it represents individualism, egalitarianism, and freedom of expression – all the things that make this country great,” Kashper said in a statement. “The opportunity to work with the company’s treasure trove of iconic brands, some of which I started my career selling, is a dream come true.” Terms of the deal were not disclosed. However, a report Thursday by The Wall Street Journal said the deal would value Pabst at $700 million to $750 million, citing some people familiar with the matter.

Blasphemy! Is nothing sacred anymore?! I thought Russia knew better than to pull a stunt like this. Paws off you Siberian bastards. You can try to claim Crimea, you can try to claim the fucking moon, but don’t you dare try to claim my beer. I won’t have it. Baltimore won’t have it. AMERICA WON’T HAVE IT. Forget arguments over domestic violence, child abuse, and the like. We’ve got a real war on our hands. We won’t take this sitting down. Rise up! The War of Cheap Mediocre Beer is upon us!

PS: Real rough day for Tom Raper.

PS: Sold to Russia, brewed somewhere else, but still Baltimore’s finest export.
