The Time I Pretended To Be On The Stanley Cup Champion Blackhawks For A Night
Well then, where to begin. You know that moment when you know you probably don’t belong somewhere and you’re standing there deciding whether to say fuck it who cares, or turn back and go home? Your brain sort of stops for a second, frozen in time. Well that was me around 6:30 last night when the Blackhawks arrived at Wrigley. As many of you already know a bunch of the guys on the team are Stoolies so when I was invited over to Sharp’s house I thought similar to ’13 I’d get to take a couple of pictures with the Cup and maybe hang out with the team for a while. Well when we got to Wrigley and the team walked on to the field leaving all the friends and family behind I basically became Kramer from the Tony episode. Crossed that foul line and went for it. Figured if I act like I’m supposed to be there everyone will think I belong. And I guess it worked. Here’s the recap of night…
That moment you wish you had started that Diet you promised yourself would begin every Monday for the past 2 years. Sweet Cube body Big Cat.
Was this close to not getting in the picture but then realized a blog about the time I almost took a picture with the Hawks at Wrigley doesn’t exactly have the same ring to it.
Thanks for having us Cubs!
Jason Motte came up to me after this moment and said congrats on winning the Cup. I just replied, “thanks man, someone has to blog”. He then walked away because he thought I was a total weirdo.
Hey Riley Curry and Maddy Sharp
You aren’t the only star of the show.

Toews said his good friend was a Stoolie and wanted to send him a pic, he has no real idea who I am but I like Chief’s version way more.
Tough angle for my face, not that there is a good angle for my face now that I think about it.
Favorite part of the night was everyone in the Media tweeting about where the Cup was headed and just pretending that Barstool wasn’t on the bus. Keep ignoring us and the Stoolies, makes sense.
If you take one thing from this blog it’s always hang in the back, never the last person in the back, that’s how you get left behind, but somewhere in the back 1/3rd of the group at all times.

I need to work on this

In all seriousness thanks to all the guys on the team, they’re all great guys and as nice as you would imagine. Very down to earth, let me hang and be the eyes for all the Stoolies out there, and more than anything just wanted to share the Stanley Cup with the City of Chicago. It’s the coolest trophy in the world for a reason and last night proves that point. As for me? Clock hit midnight and it’s time to turn back into a pumpkin/fat blogger. What a night though, what a night.
