Great News: Wedding Crashers Two Is Officially (kind of) Happening
Source - The actor, 50, spoke to Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday, saying that both he and Wilson, 51, were considering reprising their characters from the 2005 film.
"Owen and I and the director of Crashers have been talking for the first time seriously [about] a sequel to that movie," Vaughn said. "So there has been an idea that is pretty good. So we are talking about that in the early stages."
Vaughn and Wilson played divorce mediators who made a pastime of crashing wedding receptions in order to meet women. The movie also starred Rachel McAdams, Isla Fisher and Bradley Cooper.
"They were fun movies to make," Vaughn said while reminiscing about the film as well as Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Zoolander. "It’s always fun to make people laugh and go to work with people that are funny."
Well that's all I needed to hear. As far as I'm concerned, "serious talks" means they're good to go. All they need to do now is wait out the pandemic, get an offer from the studio, and start filming. Whether or not that happens is obviously still up in the air, but if it does, I guarantee it'll be a classic. Not a classic in the traditional sense- a classic in the sense that it'll be a really good sequel. Which is saying a lot considering most movies are a disaster the second time around...
That said, Im typically of the belief that if something isn't broke, you shouldn't fix it and Wedding Crashers was certainly not broke. There are so many classic scenes from that movie I don't even know which ones to include in this blog.
There was the football scene...
The bedroom scene...
Everything Will Ferrell did…
I'd include more but you've already seen them all. My only request for the sequel is that if they do make it, they get the entire original cast back together. I'm talking Christoper Walkin, Bradley Cooper, all of them. If it's half assed it won't work. Fingers crossed the producers get their ducks in a row and we see John and Jeremy on the big screen in the not too distant future. A Cleary family reunion sounds very entertaining.
