Pardon My Take's Football Guys of the Week Nominees - Week 8

Believe it or not, the NFL regular season is right around the midway point. Last week, the Head Coach of the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks took home the prize after celebrating with his players. Now, four more nominees try to state their case as our FGOTW. Let's see who they are:

Bears WR Darnell Mooney - Rookie who used the money from his first NFL paycheck to buy a JUGS machine

As pure of a Football Guy move as it comes for this receiver on Mr. Cat's squad. A JUGS machine is a must have for players, especially ones who are trying to make a name for themselves in the NFL.

Buccaneers DE Jason Pierre-Paul - Said he is going to “destroy the Giants” ahead of a revenge game against the team that drafted him

REVENGE GAME ALERT! You know that JPP has been waiting for a long time for this one. We shall see what happens.

Florida HC Dan Mullen - Showed up to his postgame press conference in a full Darth Vader costume

It has been an interesting few weeks for the man at the helm for the Gators. His comments about home game crowds backfired, and then his team had three weeks in between games. This weekend? Florida was in a halftime melee, but Mullen showed his fun side after the game at the podium with the media. Gators win.

Browns WR Rashard Higgins - Said he feels so close to Baker Mayfield that he feels like his “mama gave birth to him.”

The Browns certainly could have used a bit more of this combo against the Raiders on Sunday. But that does not take away from the fact that Higgins and Mayfield have developed a nice connection. Definitely something to monitor as the second half of the season rolls along.
