Football Scoop - Every campus in the country is looking for ways to make the fan experience better than what they’re able to get at home, and Georgia Southern has introduced an interesting new idea that may do just that.

Georgia Southern Sports Properties and Gameday Traditions have teamed up to bring fans a 400 square foot mini-mansion / tailgating suite that can accommodate up to 50 people. The mini-mansion includes four HD TVs hooked up to satellite, a wet bar, air conditioning, a private bathroom, and the option to have an outdoor area complete with another TV, outdoor furniture, an outdoor beer fridge, and propane grill.

The best part? It all comes ready to go, just pay and show up with your key and the suite is ready to go. They’ll even let you come the night before the game to stock the fridge, or (for a fee) they’ll stock the fridge for you.

The price tag per game for one of these gems? A cool $5,000.

How sweet does all of that sound? Roll up to your own home-away-from-home a few Saturdays every fall, and hang out at one of these places will 40 or 50 of your closest buddies. Plus, you don’t need to pack up the car or truck with a bunch of crap everytime you go to a game, just pack a cooler with some frosty adult beverages and some meat to throw on the grill and you’ve got everything you need.

Listen let’s be clear about one thing right off the bat. Partying at a “mini mansion” for your team’s game during college football season would be fucking awesome. I don’t care if it’s just Georgia Southern – it’s college football in the South and that’s all that matters. Nothing tops game day Saturdays in the South, and if you have a chance to switch up your tailgate routine and party at a mini mansion, you gotta do it.

Now is it really worth it? 5,000 bucks to watch the game in what is basically just a normal small house? You get 30-40 people together, that’s still like 175 bucks a head, no way any college kids can afford that. Adults and alum coming from out of town could, but when you look at the amenities – 4 HD tvs, a bar, AC and a bathroom- that’s basically just, your house right? I mean take away some of the TVs and you probably already live in a place that has all that, so you could probably just invite a big crew over to your place, and not pay the 5000 bucks. I don’t know, I might just be spoiled here, but for that kind of cash I kind of need to be enticed by more perks than a bar (stocked with stuff I have to pay for), a TV and some cool air. So yeah it’s definitely way cooler for the college crowd, just out of their price range and doesn’t even look like it can hold enough people to pack in to make it affordable.

But forget all that. It’s a god damn Mini Mansion. Says it right there in the title. And where is it? Is it within walking distance of the stadium? So you can sleep in your mini mansion, wake up, party, go hit up the game, come back and party some more. Perfect. Just beg your parents for some spending money for the weekend and drop it on the mini mansion, great experience.

Or, of course, you could always just go with the standard tailgate – nothing beats the old school sit in the parking lot, slug some beers, grill up some dogs, toss a football around and slug some more beers. Don’t care how many technological advancements come out in modern society, the original will always be the best. Hot, uncomfortable, and super drunk, just like our forefathers intended us to pregame for college football.
