It just got me thinking about how AWESOME and important TRL was back in the day. You couldn't miss it. There was no DVR. There was no Twitter debate. You got home from school, tossed on MTV (channel 29 in York, I still remember that) and waited to see who won the top spot. Music videos were awesome, but you also got the live performance to go with it. Trying to explain to someone younger than us about TRL and even music videos is a wild experience.
