Ryan Garcia is 20-0. 17 KOs.
In the Lightweight division, which Teofimo Lopez controls after his victory over Lomachenko, BoxRec has Garcia as the #9 contender. If he keeps his undefeated record, a fight against Lopez would be one of the biggest of the year in 2021/2022.
This blog isn't about Ryan Garcia's boxing, though.
Garcia has been getting involved a lot with TikTok recently. Teaching how Addison Rae and Dixie D'amelio "how to box:"
Nothing against Garcia's hustle blowing up on all social platforms. It will only increase the # of buys his fights will get. He's probably the most popular boxer in the world not named Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao, or Canelo Alvarez.
The issue for Garcia is he's showing up on TikTokRoom, the infamous Instagram page that keeps up with all things TikTok drama:
There's Garcia with Malu Trevejo, a TikTok star with over 8.5 million followers on both TikTok and Instagram:
Why is this an issue? Well, Garcia has a pregnant fiancee:
Andrea isn't the only baby mama that Ryan Garcia has. His first baby mama voiced support for his second baby mama on TikTok (I know, this is insane):
And when the TikTok kids heard this? It was time to throw a #MaluIsOverParty. Why blame Malu and not Ryan? Well, Ryan Garcia is a bad boy of TikTok. He can't be stopped. I'm not saying this, but instead, that's how the world of TikTok works. If you think Twitter cancels a lot of people, let me introduce you to TikTok.
It was so bad that Malu had to issue an apology:
#malutrevejo says when she asked #ryangarcia why he didn’t tell her about his fiance he said it was because they were on and off
"Caught up in the moment" and "I was training, babe." Garcia's excuses need to get much better.
I'm a much bigger MMA guy than boxing, but I'm going to say Ryan Garcia getting involved in this little TikTok world? Not good. When you're only 9th in your weight class you should be living and breathing fighting. You should be up in the mountains somewhere only training and sleeping, not going out with TikTok girls.
With this blog, I am starting the fade Ryan Garcia train. I am the conductor. TikTok world has gotten to his head. You just hate to see it, but it is what is. Just too much going on. Not everyone can be Floyd Mayweather.
