It's Actually Incredible How Much Support Steph Curry Is Getting From Seemingly Everyone In The World

This occurred to me last night while watching the game and scrolling through Twitter, I can’t remember a time where seemingly everyone was rooting for one guy the way the world has been rooting for Steph Curry. He can do no wrong. When he has a bad night, it’s not the MVP choked, it’s that he will never play that poorly again. When he makes a bad play, it’s not “LOL CURRY”, it’s people genuinely feeling bad, because they want to see him succeed. It’s actually amazing how much support he has. Even opposing teams’ arena don’t boo him. Can you imagine LeBron going into an arena and not getting booed? Would never happen in a million years. Can you imagine LeBron bringing one of his kids to the podium and having it run around like a menace (a cute menace, but still a menace) and getting universally praised for it? Would never happen in a billion years. I have been wracking my brain for someone who has had a similar buzz or all around support from fans of a sport like Steph has. All I can think of is Mark McGwire when he was in the home run chase. When EVERYONE was rooting for him and the world was captivated. Maybe Tiger during his prime, but there are always Tiger-haters.

After last night’s 4th quarter, perhaps this is the turning point for Steph. If he rallies the Warriors back to win the series, he will get legend status at 27 years old. And it sucks that it will have to be against this Cavs team, because LeBron’s narrative is so lame- if the Cavs win, LeBron won by himself without the other pieces of the “big 3″. If they lose, LeBron almost beat Steph, Klay, and the GSW all by himself. Hopefully this isn’t the last time we see these Warriors vs Cavs teams in the Finals.
