BF – Two years ago, Christian McPhilamy, a then–6-year-old from Melbourne, Florida, saw a St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital commercial about pediatric cancer.

Christian’s mom, Deeanna Thomas, told Florida Today he became really curious about wigs for cancer patients.

“I told him that’s where you donate your hair to kids with cancer, to make wigs from your hair,” Thomas told reporters. “And he said, ‘I want to do that.’”

I’m a sucker for a nice feel-good story and this fits the bill. So many kids suck these days for a variety of reasons — pussy parents, technology, whatever — so I’m always really impressed when one kid rises above and does something most of us wouldn’t dream of as fully formed adults. Not only doing something just to help others for that much time, but also putting up with the shitty teasing some first-graders would give you (they called me Christopher Columbus which I guess was relevant because we had the same first name and also both wore a lot of tunics while questioning the location of Indians)? This Christian kid is just a real good little dude. Hopefully good things happen for him in return.

Also his real biggest problem was in hair style choices between the Hanson look above and this one:

If I had hair that length, I’d go man bun all day and twice on Fridays. Bun that hair up and get this kid a scummy little bro hipster hoodie then watch him slay all the grade school bitches. It’s called a look, Christian, make it work.
