The First Trailer For 'The Education of Fredrick Fitzell' Looks Like Drug-Induced Nightmare Fuel

Fred Fitzell is a normal guy approaching his 30s and going through the things most people go through. He's struggling with whether he should get a corporate job and let go of his dream of being an artist. He's wondering if he should commit to his girlfriend. After a chance encounter with a man forgotten from his youth, Fred literally and metaphorically journeys into his past. He slowly begins to unravel a long hidden mystery about a missing girl, a drug called Mercury, and a terrifying creature that followed him into adulthood.

As past, present and future begin to intersect and parallel each other, Fred has to choose between all the possible lives he could lead.

As a noted Dylan O'Brien guy, I love to see him getting involved in some new shit. In almost every recent movie I've seen him in he has out-acted all his co-stars and the high quality of his performance was dragged down by the poor quality of the overall movie. Getting the chance to explore some really psychologically fucked up story with a twisted and pained character.

The trailer almost looks kind of similar to 'The Butterfly Effect' in a sense. The exception is that instead of going back in time by reading (nerd) he does it by taking drugs (very cool).

This is the second movie from director Christopher MacBride, who made the critically successful movie 'The Conspiracy'. Maika Monroe, who is in no less than 200 horror movies at this point, is co-starring in this movie as well. The entire movie was apparently shot in just over a month, which is kind of nuts.
