Watch John Lennon Performing 'Come Together' At Madison Square Garden In 1972 In Honor Of What Would've Been His 80th Birthday

In honor of what would've been John Lennon's 80th birthday, check out this live performance of 'Come Together' from his second posthumous live album, taken from his famous Madison Square Garden show in 1972 (the last "full scale" concert Lennon would ever play). This version adds a little more bluesy attitude to the Beatles classic, and hopefully, it's a little less cliche than all of the 'Imagine' tributes you'll see today.

I know Lennon wasn't always a great guy in his personal life, and there's plenty of stories to back that up, but his music (and the music of The Beatles) absolutely means the world to me, and inspired so much of what I love about rock n' roll, music, art, and life in general that he'll always hold a special place in my heart.

Thanks for everything, John. Rest in Peace.
