Heat Offense Goes Missing Down Stretch, Shorthanded Miami Falls in 0-2 NBA Finals Hole
Welp, that's that. The Miami Heat hung around for the majority of Game Two of the 2020 NBA Finals, but the Lakers were too big and too good. It seemed like the game was going to get out of hand before the half, but the Heat did just enough to stay within striking distance. Miami really had a shot to close the gap throughout the majority of the second half. Coach Spo's squad just couldn't take advantage on the offensive end.
Kelly Olynyk actually played surprisingly well on paper (24 and 9, 9-16 from the floor), but took some questionable shots in moments where the Heat desperately could have used a bucket. I would have liked to see Tyler Herro get more touches, at the very least, as Miami attempted to cut it to a one or two possession game. But it wasn't meant to be.
Of course, many have deemed that this series is already over (and it very well might be). But the heart of this squad should not go unnoticed.
Hopefully Bam and Goran get healthy enough to get back on the floor at some point this series, because time is obviously running out. As for a highlight from tonight, how about Kendrick Nunn!
And who can forget the huge bucket for the cover...
So, of course, it is still an extreme long shot to win the series, let alone a game or two. But step one is getting healthy. We'll see if that happens.
